ARTBUTLER was founded in Berlin in 2002 by Dirk Herzer. Ever since, our growing team of professionals with a passion for art – from developers and art market consultants to designers – has been dedicated to effectively serving our clients.
Our vision is simple: More time for art and clients! We offer comprehensive art management solutions and services tailored to the industry's unique demands.
Our products are designed for anyone professionally or passionately involved with artists or art: Galleries, artists, studios, collections, or estates. We’re also proud to count among our clients numerous institutions, universities, and partners who greatly appreciate ARTBUTLER's expertise.
We consider Berlin, with its lively art scene, as our ideal location for an inspiring exchange with the local and global art world.
Our Vision: More Time for Art and Clients
ARTBUTLER wasn’t initially conceived as a software but was developed as a consultancy project for a gallery. It soon became apparent, however, just how much potential digitalisation offers in terms of facilitating workflow on the art market, and how great was the need for a software solution at that time. ARTBUTLER Software tackles time-consuming tasks, making room for client liaisons and engagement with artists and art.
This project quickly developed into a product that was developed further and further in close cooperation with a rapidly growing number of other galleries, artists and studios and optimized for use in a wide range of practical applications.
The central idea of supporting professional art market players in their daily tasks inspired the brand name: ARTBUTLER.

Dirk
Founder & CEO
Dirk founded ARTBUTLER in 2002 and has since been striving to create innovative products for the art market that offer solutions to effectively simplify daily work tasks.
By the way, Dirk is a huge football fan and attended his first game in the Volksparkstadion at the tender age of four.
Tim
Director of Sales
As Sales Director, Tim has been there for you from the very first contact since 2008. He not only advises you on the possibilities you have with our products, but also provides training for our customers.
By the way, Tim has a subscription to the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Clara
Senior Sales Manager
Clara has joined our team in the sales department in 2021. With hands-on experience in both, galleries and artist's studios, she knows your requirements first hand and will be happy to help you.
By the way, Clara is a member of the German Alpine Club and loves hiking.
Carolin
Head of Marketing
Carolin has been part of our team since 2021. She is leading the marketing and brand communication team.
By the way, Carolin is a Sound Therapist and runs her own small business.
Moritz
Support Knowledge Manager
Since 2024, Moritz has been in charge of our support. He brings valuable insights from his previous roles in artist studios, galleries, and auction houses, ensuring he understands your needs.
By the way, in his free time, you can often find Moritz at the climbing wall or playing chess.
